Just to say a big thanks to this thread. It helped me to fix my 2008 Ford Focus Mk2.5 1.8 diesel. Engine wasn't starting, throwing P1622 immobiliser ID does not match. Reflowed the instructment cluster a few times and replaced main earth cable. But didn't know there was 3 more earth connections under the air intake box.

I am facing problem with my Ford Focus 05 number plate from yesterday. Yesterday evening it shows suddenly "Engine System Fault", then "Acceleration Reduced". I drive home like 5 miles without any problem but that message was showing.. Then this morning haven't seen any message. But, in the evening coming back home just now had more problem Ford Model: Mk 2.5 Focus 1.6 tdci & Mk 3 1.6 getting 12.6 volts ignition ON and about 14 v when engine is running. No fault code on egr washer system.
i have the same problem on y 2007 ford focus, the car will crank but not start, it says engine systems fault, computer cannot read ecu, i have tried everything from testing the ecu, cluster, fuses, relays, reprogramming, coded keys, wiring but the car will not start, the diagnostic machine cannot read the computer on the car, no signal going thru, i was told to scrap the car or sell it as is

Posted November 23, 2018. We've got an ongoing issue with our 56 plate 1.6 focus Zetec. Intermittently losing power with either the engine system fault appearing on the displayor the red light coming on next to the display. Happens mostly when we've slowed to a stop at junctionin traffic
