First, once you get someone to marry you or a family member they move to whatever town. It seems somewhat random. Once I had them move to the place my younger brother/sister were. Veteran. Jul 1, 2011. #4. If I remember correctly in vanilla marriage gave a relation boost to the lady's relatives, so it was worth marrying a girl with a big family, but that doesn't seem to work in PoP. Just marry whoever you think is the least ugly and use her as your minister and to throw feasts. And start up all your enterprises too. It's easier to set yourself up as a woman. Being a woman is more of a grind but the longer you grind the better set up you will be for the late game. As a woman you can obtain some easy early renown by dueling any smug Nobles who look down upon you for being a woman. #11.
Even if the system was properly implemented, there just aren't enough nobles to keep it going into a second generation. They are working on it.
As for the other guys, unless they are already betrothed, they can lose interest in the girl they are pursuing, or she can end up marrying someone else- you can talk to their mother and find out. When playing as a female character I find it much easier to get married early in the game, plus it means you can become a vassal with basically 0 renown.
Best vlandian wife in my opinion is Liena dey tihr. Hot, vassal, and a warrior. Your kids will always be of the Mothers culture. So if you don’t want Battanian kids I’d marry whoever and use companions and/or your brothers’ wives as governor. Recently they've changed it what culture your kids will inherit.
